The first of the big reveals was today. We planned on telling everyone about the pregnancy after week 12, but we had a successful ultrasound yesterday and have to cancel our vacation....so we decided to spill the beans to the grandparents-to-be.
We needed to tell Mike's parents that we were canceling our camping-road trip to Utah national parks since they were going to meet us for 1 - 2 nights on their way back from Arizona. This then meant that we had to Rachel's parents.
So, we went over to visit Rachel's parents and showed them the ultrasound pictures from yesterday. That night we were able to Skype with Mike's extended family while they were all visiting our newborn nephew Gus.
Needless to say, everyone was very, very excited for us. We definitely wish that we had a recording of the reactions, but it might have been suspicious.
