Our family left for a two night trip to Duluth, MN on Sunday, August 19th to Tuesday, August 21st (A&C's 17 month birthday!). We spent a great two nights at the Edgewater with Pete, Tia, Ryan, and Henry. It was a great adventure with its challenges and successes. Both Alexander and Catherine were terrified of the water park - it was very loud and tons of kids running around when we got there. We walked in and Cate was snuggling in and shaking her head "no." I (Rachel) held her for 1.5 hours before she would unbury her head to look around. There was a huge bucket that would fill up with water every 5-10 min at the top of the kids water playground and then dump it all over - loud and scary to the little ones. But, by the end of the trip, A&C did go down the kid water slide with mama and kind of like it and really loved the ceramic turtles that were on the side of the lazy river - if we avoided the dreaded bucket. Definitely recommend the two bedroom suite - A&C had their own room with two pack'n'plays and slept both all night and naps. We can travel again!!! We hit up all our favorite restaurants, went for walks on the lake walk, saw ducks and seagulls, played on the big playground - Alex and Cate went down the slides all by themselves. We are entering the climbing/daredevil phase......
Fun times had by all.
