Alex and Cate are taking that next big step in their long school career. Going from Toddler to Preschool. We are still at Paidea and are lucky to have a school that moves kids up when they are emotionally and cognitively ready. So potty training isn't a prerequisite, which is good since they are not there yet. We talked with the school director today about the transition. They will visit the preschool classroom for an hour or two with their current toddler teacher Synath (who they adore). Then she will leave for a while and come back. They ease them into the transition. It is only after they ask to go and then spend at least 3 full days in preschool before they are considered preschoolers. So, likely around early March.
When we told the kiddos at dinner, here was the reaction.
Mike: We talked to Lynn (director) today about preschool.
Rachel: Do you guys want to go to the preschool room?
Alex: No, I don't want to.
Cate: Don't worry Alex, I will keep you safe.
Alex: ok

ETA: Still 3 months into preschool and they love it, but we still stop and give their toddler teacher a hug. It is wonderful they have a strong bond with their teachers.
